Terms

The agreement, in plain words.

A venue subscribes to arinn; a guest uses the venue. Most of what people want to know follows from that one sentence.

Who contracts with whom

A VENUE subscribes to arinn. A GUEST does not: a guest uses the venue's own ordering, booking and payment surfaces, and their contract for the food, the table and the service is with the venue.

arinn provides the software. What is served, what it costs, whether a booking is honoured and how a complaint about a meal is settled are all the venue's.

Subscriptions, and what happens when one is not paid

A term is billed in advance for the period it names. A venue can pay by transfer, by InstaPay, or by card where card payments are switched on for that deployment.

A term that is not settled by its due date enters a grace window and then a suspension. A suspended venue's GUESTS are not shut out: the room keeps ordering and the floor keeps serving, because a subscription dispute is between the venue and arinn and a guest at a table is not a party to it. The office side — reports, the menu editor, staff administration — is what closes.

Everything is where it was left. Settling reopens the console.

Money a guest pays

Every figure a guest is shown is priced by the server from the venue's own menu. Nothing a phone or a browser says about an amount is ever taken as the amount: a client can say what it displayed, and the only thing that is done with that is to refuse the order and show the difference when the menu has moved.

A refund is the venue's to give. arinn does not hold the money.

Acceptable use

Do not use the product to break the law, to send what you are not entitled to send, or to reach data belonging to a venue or a guest that is not yours. Automated access at a volume that degrades service for a room in the middle of a shift is the same thing as taking it down.

Accounts that do these things are closed. Where money is involved, so are the authorities.

Availability, and what is not promised

The software is provided as it stands. Nobody can promise a network, a payment gateway or a printer will be up in the middle of a Friday service, and a document that said otherwise would be worth nothing on the night it mattered.

What arinn does undertake is to run the room's own data honestly: the figures shown are the figures stored, an order that was taken is visible to the people who must cook and carry it, and a failure is recorded rather than swallowed.
